Outpost Vehicle-Mounted Hammock Stand
| Stand length | More than 12 ft. |
A vehicle-mounted hammock stand that creates a comfortable off-the-ground basecamp when trees are not available.
Outpost is built for car campers who want a reliable hammock setup almost anywhere. It mounts to compatible vehicle rack systems, deploys without tools, and creates a long, adjustable hang while preserving valuable rooftop cargo space.
Features
- No trees required: creates a freestanding hammock setup from a compatible vehicle rack
- Vehicle-mounted design: included stock mount kit works with many cross bars, basket racks, and platform-style racks
- Fast setup: quick-release ball hitch mount, three-piece crossbar, and telescoping legs deploy without tools
- All-terrain adjustment: telescoping legs and rotating ball hitch help level the setup on uneven ground
- Long hang: stand spans more than 12 ft. to accommodate taller campers and a wide range of hammocks
- Tarp-ready crossbar: horizontal crossbar doubles as a ridgeline with tarp line guides
- Portable storage: packs down to roughly the size of a collapsible camp chair for easier transport
- Outdoor-ready finish: powder-coated construction is designed for adventure use
Why We Love It
Outpost is a smart solution for campers who want hammock comfort without depending on the campsite layout. It is especially useful for road trips and basecamp setups because it turns your vehicle into a dependable hammock anchor while leaving rooftop cargo space available for other gear.
Best for: car camping, overlanding, road trips, group basecamps, desert or beach campsites, and locations without suitable trees.
Will It Fit My Space?
Plan for more than 12 ft. of usable length beside your vehicle, plus clearance for the hammock, telescoping legs, and any tarp you plan to use. Confirm that your vehicle rack and mounting location are compatible before setup.
